Presentation

I’ll use whatever techniques I need to get the most out of the situation of any water I’m fishing, I’m as happy fishing at extremely long rang as I am under the rod tip and all in between. The key is working out what is happening on the water and doing everything I can to make the most of it, so if I feel the fish are hungry, I will feed vast quantities of bait, if I feel they aren’t I’ll fish singles or bags. Prologic has a range of gear that allows me to be flexible, with rods that can cast a very long way, yet still be able to play fish at close quarters without fear of a hook pull, bivvies and brollies that are practical and very effective, and a range of luggage for all needs.

Background

I’ve been an angler since I was 11 years old and I can vividly remember catching my first fish (a 4oz Tench) from the local lake. Over the next few years I tried most forms of fishing, Match, Fly, Predator, River, etc, before eventually finding carp fishing in 1988 and I’ve been predominantly a carp angler ever since. I fished locally for many years on a number of different waters, but Derbyshire isn’t the best location for big carp, so in 2005 I started travelling for my angling. That first year on the road proved to be a successful one, culminating in the capture of the Mother from Elstow 2. I started my writing for the magazines shortly after and clocked up well over 100 articles for all the UK and some international magazines. I have fished many big fish waters over the years including, Stonacres, Christchurch, Burghfield, Horton, Kingsmead, Wraysbury, Rockford, Bundy’s, Spice Pit, Irchester, St Ives, Wellington Country Park, etc.
